Democrats vow to fight President-Elect Trump’s incoming policies, despite not having enough votes to do it.

trumpflagFor several months now, future president Donald J Trump, has made several large campaigns promises to the American people. One of his most significant and most controversial is the border wall. Ever since Trump first gave the idea of a border wall to the American people, it has come under considerable scrutiny.

Many Republicans came out in support of the wall, with the hope of securing the southern border to prevent the entry of three million illegal immigrants every year. The majority of Democrats, however, have attacked Trump ferociously for what they claim to be a “project steeped in racism and hatred.” Democrats far and wide were enraged by the idea and saw it as an attack on President Obama’s legacy. This is only one of the many different issues that the Liberals are on their high horse about.

On November 8th, Donald Trump was elected as the forty-fifth president of the United States. After the collective bed wetting of liberals everywhere, the Democrats spent the vast majority of the past two months looking for ways to fight incoming legislation from the new administration. This, however, will prove to be a far more daunting prospect than the liberals are currently letting on.

During November, Democrats did much more than just lose the presidency. The left lost not only seats in the House but the Senate as well. Along with this, Trump will now have the opportunity to choose his own Supreme Court Justices. That means that the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches, are all now leaning right. Republicans celebrate this  overwhelming victory with a newfound enthusiasm.

balance-of-powerThe Democratic party has now been left to pick up the pieces. However, when confronted with the reality of their situation, most Democrats snarl their nose and make light of the situation. Nowhere is this more grossly apparent than in the political realm. Democrats staunchly cling to the dying ideology of their party, while resolving to dive even further into the liberal rabbit hole. Because that worked so well for them this election cycle, right?

Democrats make claims that they are going to fight President Trump tooth and nail on incoming issues. The primary one that they are focusing on, after Obamacare of course, is his leading campaign promise. The matter of Trump’s Border Wall has been one that the vast majority of Dems insist would be abandoned by President Trump after being elected. However, Trump and his future administration have sent an inquiry to Congress, to see how much money it will cost, claiming that Mexico will reimburse America in full, through tariffs, and other methods.

Now with the wall going up, Democrats have a problem. They have absolutely no way to fight the incoming legislation. Their only option would be to filibuster, a practice that has been vastly damaged by, (surprise, surprise,) the Democrats themselves. Back in Obama’s first term, the Democrats of the Senate used the nuclear option to lower the number of senatorial votes required to pass a bill, from a super majority, to a simple majority. This means that instead of requiring sixty votes to pass, a bill only needs fifty-one votes. The strong Republican presence in the house and senate, along with the new Senate rules, make it nearly impossible for them to fight.

This, however, does not stop Democratic politicians from standing tall and beating their chests. They want the American people to see the upcoming battle as David versus Goliath. With Trump playing the part of Goliath, and they, David. However the reverse is true. You know, if Goliath was the size of a mouse and had no political power whatsoever. Going forward only one thing is sure. The ball is now in the Republicans court. And it is up to them not to botch it.
